Imphal, Feb 06:

After settling the issues of various intending candidates to support to the common BJP candidate at many of the constituencies, Chief Minister N. Biren Singh keeps visiting various assembly constituencies of the state to make sure that BJP gets the magic number in the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly election which is scheduled on February 27 and March 3 this year.

“It takes almost weeks to consolidate all the intending candidates at various assembly constituencies who have been denied tickets”, N. Biren Singh told Imphal Times while visiting the residence of Elangbam Johnson – the BJP candidate from Keishamthong Assembly constituency. It was their belief and trust in the BJP leadership that they stand by the party decision and assured full support to make the BJP return to power once again, N. Biren said referring to those intending candidates of BJP who were denied party ticket but assured to stand by the party. The chief minister was referring to RK Shivachandra who had openly declared support to any of the BJP candidates in Keishamthong Assembly constituency even if he has been denied BJP ticket. Last election Shivachandra contested as BJP candidate but was defeated to NPP candidate. A similar case was also with Ashinikumar, the BJP worker who has been working to contest the election at Thanga Assembly constituency for years but was denied at the last minute. Ashinikumar had openly said that he will support the decision of the BJP and will make sure that the party returns to power with an absolute majority in the next assembly.

Later, after visiting the residence of E Johnson, the BJP candidate of Keishamthong Ac, the Chief Minister went around the constituency and met various people to vote for the BJP candidate.

Interestingly, while going at Keishamthong Hodam leirak, the vehicle of the Chief Minister suddenly halt on the way after he saw two kids waving their hands. N. Biren Singh stopped the vehicle and took a selfie with the kids. Many people gathered and praise the Chief Minister for his simple gesture.

Everything is settled now and differences between the BJP intending candidate has also been settled and the BJP is sure to get the majority seat in the next state legislative Assembly N. Biren Singh told Imphal times.
