Imphal, Apr 20:

The dust in the wind seems not settled in Manipur’s BJP-led government as one more MLA tenders resignation from the post of Chairman of the Manipur Development Society, (MDS). The development comes a day after Chief Minister N. Biren said that there is no crisis in the BJP government even as PHED Minister L. Susindro and MLA RK Imo had said that two MLAs resigned from their respective posts due to greed for power.
It is now clear that at least 3 prominent MLAs of the BJP are now not in good relations with Chief Minister N. Biren Singh and the resignation from the post of MDS Chairman by MLA Paonam Brojen indicates that the Chief Minister N. Biren Singh had not initiated any move to keep control of the MLAs from raising against his leadership.
Source from the central BJP office said that no words in connection with the discontentment of the three MLAs have been expressed and there is no consideration for any disciplinary action against MLA Th. Radheshyam and MLA Kara Shyam as reported in some sections of media.
BJP office insiders said that numbers are not a matter for the choosing of the BJP legislature wing leader but it all depends on the justification of the issue raised by the BJP members.
“Remember how Basavaraj S Bommai replaced BS Yediyurappa as the new Chief Minister of Karnataka on July 27, 2021. It was not that Yediyurappa does not have the number but it was the desire of the central leadership that he had been replaced besides knowing the fact that he was instrumental in bringing a BJP government in South Indian state”, the BJP insider, who insisted in mentioning his name told Imphal Times.
In BJP everything can happen, the party believes in people and is a well discipline party where important decisions are made by the mandates of the BJP leadership, he added.
