Imphal, Sept 3:
Major General Bhaskar Kalita, Yudh Seva Medal, Additional Director General, NCC North East Region Directorate, paid homage to Nataji Subhash Chandra Bose, at the Moirang INA Martyr’s Memorial today. The homage was more significant as the ADG NCC Directorate NER was honouring Netaji who was a University Corps (which later became the NCC) Cadet, in 1917-1918.
After the Wreath Laying, the ADG took a brief walk around the INA Museum, and appreciated the collection of memorabilia which bring out the saga of bravery and sacrifice of Netaji and his Army, including the many braves from Manipur including Mairembam Koireng Singh, Hemam Nilamani Singh, Kiyam Gopal Singh, Laiphrakpam Sanaba Singh, Potsangbam Tomal Singh, M. Randhoni Devi and O. Keina Devi who were part of the INA.
The ADG then interacted with the NCC Cadets, and stated that the link between an old Cadet, INA and NCC should never be broken. He was one of us, in more ways than one. The ADG talked to the Cadets about the importance of working hard to fulfil our aspirations. Communications skills are the foundation of success, and every Cadet must work constantly to improve this aspect. He shared that he was extremely proud of the Cadets of North East Region, and especially Manipur, as they have excelled in all spheres of NCC activity.
