Action Against the Negligence of Doctor

Imphal, Sept 14: Laishram Ajit @ Lokeshor (53) of Kwakeithel Thounaojam Leikai passed away at Shija Hospital, Langol yesterday after undergoing treatment after a Santro car hit his Alto car at Old Assembly crossing around 5.30 pm of August 21. The person who collided into Ajit’s car and later surrendered to Imphal City Police has been identified as one Dr. Sylvia of Moirangkhom Loklaobung who is presently employed at JNIMS. The injured, who was rushed to JNIMS at around 6 in the evening was discharged at 9 the same day after treatment by Dr. Ibomcha (Surgery). Ajit was readmitted on August 23 following complaints from his injuries, but was transferred to Shija on the insistence of the family of the injured since Dr. Ibomcha disclosed that JNIMS is not equipped to provide treatment as Ajit’s condition has become serious. CT Scan reports taken earlier at JNIMS and cleared by Dr. Ibomcha later revealed blood clots in the brain when re-examined at Shija. A “JAC against the brutal murder of L Ajit due to gross driving and negligence of two doctors”was formed today which is demanding unconditional apology from Dr Sylvia as well as Dr Ibomcha who should personally hand over the dead body of Ajit failing which further intense agitation and action will be taken up.
