Ace hockey player P Sushila sustains ACL injury

Indian hockey player Pukhrambam Sushila Chanu sustained injury at Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) during training and preparatory camp recently.
Due to the injury the 24-year-old member of India Women’s team missed the change to play for the nation in the Hawke’s Bay Cup in Hastings, New Zealand. The Cup, which is commencing from 2 April, 2016, is a crucial match for India.
Coach of the national team and others has also expressed sadness over the injury of the promising player right before the Cup.
The Indian Women’s squad has bound for New Zealand on Monday.
It may be mentioned that under her Captainship the Indian junior team for the first time won bronze medal at the 2013 Junior World Cup at Mönchengladbach, Germany.
She was born to Pukhrambam Shyamsundar and Pukhrambam Ongbi Lata of Thangmeiband on 25 February 1992. She is currently employed in the Central Mumbai Railway.
