AAMSU Observes its Rubby Jubilee

Silchar, Feb.9: The All Assam Manipuri Students’ Union (AAMSU) observed its 40th Foundation day at BR Ambedkar Hall,Silchar on Wednesday.

The formal session of the event was graced by Ashangbam Biren Singh, former Home Minister,Government of Manipur and former President,AAMSU, Kangabam Santi Kumar Singh,ACS,Chief Executive Officer,Hailakandi district, Assam and founder General Secretary AAMSU, Wangkhem Sarat Chandra, founder Advisor AAMSU, Sorokhaibam Nanda Kishore Singh,former President, AAMSU and Laishram Bir Kumar Singh, former General Secretary,AAMSU as presidium members while AAMSU president Pangabam Nilkanta attended as functional president.

Amongst other, Former AAMSU and AASU activist Khaidem Amal, Ng.Braja, Dr.M.Santi Kumar,RK Gopalsana and Champalal Singh were delivered speech as speakers.

In their speeches, the speakers and presidium guests  mentioned about the contributions of AAMSU and also cited the importance of students activism for the greater developement of society.

It may be noted that AAMSU was formed on 8th February ,1978.

AAMSU also takes a great role for the development and protection of the language,identity and culture of Manipuri community of Assam. In a event, former AAMSU activists were also cited its close relationship with various students union of North East including AASU,AMSU and NESO.

The day long event was consist of flag hosting,floral tributes to the martyrs and departed souls of  AAMSU and felicitation to former AAMSU members.

It can also be noted that the welcome address of the event was delivered by  a member of AAMSU Womens wing Ashangbam Chingkhei Nganbi while key note and vote of thanks were delivered by AAMSU general secretary Khangjrakpam Krishnamohan and Anjali Yurembam respectively.
