A Ray of hope before the rains: Ram Muivah repairs lifeline road, wins villagers’ gratitude

Special Correspondent
Ukhrul, June 12:
As the monsoon season sets in and dark clouds gather over the hills, residents of several villages along the Ramva–Lungpha stretch were gripped by anxiety over the deteriorating condition of the road, fearing that heavy rains would further isolate their communities from the rest of the district.

Recognizing the hardships faced by the people, particularly those living in the remote villages on the periphery, Ukhrul MLA Ram Muivah stepped in with a timely intervention. Understanding the urgency of the situation, the legislator reportedly directed his workers to undertake immediate repair works before the monsoon could wreak havoc on the already damaged road.

Under the initiative of the MLA, the crucial road stretch connecting Ramva and Lungpha (Mata Junction) has now been repaired. The restoration work included road maintenance, jungle clearance along the route, and the construction and cleaning of drainage channels to ensure smoother traffic movement and prevent waterlogging during the rainy season.

The repaired road serves as a vital link for commuters travelling between Ukhrul and Imphal and is expected to significantly ease transportation challenges for villagers, students, patients, and traders who depend on the route for their daily needs.

Local sources expressed appreciation for the MLA’s swift response and commitment to public welfare. Villagers from the surrounding areas reportedly lauded Ram Muivah for what they described as a selfless and service-oriented initiative undertaken at a critical time.

According to residents, elders and community leaders have been vocal in their praise, describing the road repair as one of the most essential and urgently needed interventions for the region.

Many said the timely action has brought relief and renewed confidence among villagers who were bracing for another difficult monsoon season.

The initiative has been widely welcomed as a practical step towards improving rural connectivity and addressing the immediate concerns of the people.
