Imphal, July 25-Manipur education minister Th Radheshyam on Tuesday informed the assembly that the government is planning to remove the Class VIII category from the job seekers categories.
Replying to questions by opposition MLA Surjakumar Okram of the congress party in the question and answer session of the ongoing assembly, minister Radheshyam said that the total number of job seekers registered through the state employment exchanges in the state is 8,16,888 including 5,71,583 males and 2,45,305 females as on January 31,thie year.
He also said that the people who are registered in the employment exchange do not include the self-employed and working in private sector enterprises.
“A person on getting a job can also register in employment exchanges as an employed person on production of ‘No objection certificate’ to the effect that the employer has no objection on applying for a better job in any department etc and registered employed persons are entered in a separate register,” the minister added.
