7th Liangmai-Imphal Market Day on November 6

The Liangmai-Imphal Market Committee announced that the 7th edition of the Liangmai-Imphal Market Day would be held on November 6, 2025, at the Basketball Ground, in collaboration with the Singjamei Chinga Makha Model Club. According to the organizers, the community-led event is aimed at promoting Manipur’s growing organic market movement and fostering stronger cooperation between rural farmers and urban consumers.
The market, which has emerged as a leading platform for organic produce in the state, has been drawing steady public support since its inception. Organizers stated that the initiative plays a crucial role in promoting healthy, locally sourced food while strengthening rural-urban linkages. Fresh vegetables and farm products, brought directly from the Liangmai Hills of Kangpokpi, Senapati, Noney, and Tamenglong districts, are expected to be among the highlights of the upcoming event.
The committee further noted that the Liangmai-Imphal Market has evolved beyond a trading space, becoming a means of empowerment for Liangmai women vendors and local farmers. By encouraging fair trade and direct farmer-to-consumer engagement, the market has been helping women achieve greater economic independence and visibility in local entrepreneurship.
Members of the organizing committee invited the public to attend and support the initiative, describing it as a celebration of healthy living, sustainability, and inclusivity.
