76th Birth Anniversary of renowned writer Chana Lukhoi observed

The 76th birth anniversary of noted writer Chana Lukhoi was observed on Friday afternoon at Nungsikol Park under Lamlai Assembly Constituency.
The programme, organised by the Chana Lukhoi Arts Center, was attended by Colonel Takhenchangbam Robindro Sharma as the chief guest. Chairperson of the centre, Chana Lembi, presided over the function, while retired Principal of Bishnupur Higher Secondary School, Wahengbam Hemabati, attended as the guest of honour.
As part of the observance, a poetry recitation programme was also organised.
Speaking on the occasion, Colonel Robindro Sharma stated that just as the birth anniversaries of great personalities are celebrated across the world, similar observances should be held to honour and remember eminent figures of the land. He noted that remembering such personalities would help future generations understand and uphold their legacy.
Recalling the contributions of Chana Lukhoi, he said the writer travelled widely and worked to promote Sanamahi religious philosophy. He also described him as a distinguished figure in the field of Shumang Leela and a respected personality who made significant contributions to society.
