6th Biennial Convention of Manipur Association Canada held virtually

The 6th Biennial convention of the Manipuri Association of Canada (MAC) was organized in the presence of Chief Minister, N. Biren Singh and Minister PWD & Sports, Govindas Konthoujam, on August 27. MAC, with its conception, has been dedicated to assisting Manipuris in pursuing higher education/study, immigration etc. in Canada and delivering a helping hand in times of need for the community and the people of Manipur. The motivation and encouragement speeches from the CM and Minister PWD & Sports flourished the program and instructed the Diasporas for a better Manipur.
At this Biennial convention, cultural program was featured and celebrated with vibrant renowned artists from Manipur, including Pushparani, Chitra, Pinky, Arbin, and Kennedy, who gave a rousing performance, the Nokphade team (Ruhini Kumar & team), with its unique characters, performed an overwhelming comedy show that captivated the online viewers across the world.
In addition, the Manipuri kids across Canada displayed a talent show
that enthralled the viewers. As a part of the program, new organizational leadership team members were elected and
pledged for the year 2022/2024. Further, the outgoing leadership/executive team handed over the responsibilities to the newly formed executive team. The new group involves Dr. Prithiviraj Kangjam (Yaiphaba) – President (Vancouver), Russiachand Heikham – Vice President (Montreal), Tolen Moirangthem – Secretary (Saskatoon), Dayananda Paonam – Asst. Secretary cum Treasurer (Toronto), with executive members Milanda Roy (Manitoba), and Daisy (Toronto). In addition, an advisory committee was also form viz, Dr. Joy Laishram, Joy Chabungbam, Sujata Chabungbam, Promud Hamom, Ananta Singha, Sarda Heigrujam, Ranibala Kshetrimayum, and Shanta Konthoujam to overlook and offer suggestions to the executive’s team.
