64-year-old IDP dies of BP Stroke

A 64-year-old Internally Displaced Person (IDP) taking refuge at a relief camp opened at Mangolnganbi College, Ningthoukhong in Bishnupur district, passed away yesterday evening due to a Blood Pressure (BP) Stroke.
The deceased, Motum Memcha Devi, wife of Motum Monto (68), hailed from Tuibong Farm Meitei Leikai in Churachandpur district. She had been staying at the relief camp since the outbreak of the ongoing crisis that began on May 3, 2023.
Reports said that due to the prolonged hardship, her husband, Motum Monto, has been suffering from mental health issues and is currently being cared for by their eldest daughter, who is married and resides at Kyamgei in Imphal East.
Sources said Motum Memcha was immediately rushed to Advance Hospital in Imphal East district, but doctors declared her brought dead at around 7. 40 pm yesterday.
She is survived by four daughters and a son, besides her husband.
