The Tangkhul Naga Long (TNL), the apex traditional body of the Tangkhul community, has issued a firm directive warning against any form of obstruction along National Highway-202 during the ongoing Shirui Lily Festival.
In a public notice, the TNL emphasized that any attempt to hinder the free movement of passengers and tourists traveling to Ukhrul or Shirui during the festival would be treated as a deliberate act of hostility. The body made it clear that no excuse or justification will be tolerated for causing disruption to the general public seeking to enjoy the state’s premier cultural celebration.
“The Shirui Lily Festival is a rare occasion that showcases our heritage, beauty, and hospitality,” the notice stated, urging all to uphold the spirit of unity and peaceful coexistence. TNL appealed for full cooperation from every individual and group in maintaining harmony throughout the duration of the festival.
