After police had detained the five students undergoing fast-unto-death protest demanding implementation of ILPS and punishment of the police personnel involved in the killing of Sapam Robinhood, 5 more new students began the fast unto-death-protest at the same place. Another 6 more persons including a middle aged person also began the fast unto-death protest at Lamlong keithel since early morning today.
2 more person identified as Pratap Leisangthem, of Thangmeiband Sinam Leikai and Laishram Gunindro of Thangmeiband Hijam Leikai had already started fast-unto-death protest at Thangmeiband College gate since yesterday. Altogether 13 person have been undergoing fast-unto-death death protest after the 5 students have been detained by the police.
Among the five students who had been undergoing fast-unto-death protest in front of Ananda Singh Higher Secondary School, Nongmeibung since August 14, demanding implementation of Inner Line Permit System, 4 including the lone girl were picked up by a sizable police team at around 2 am today morning. Another student was pulled down from the claw of the police force by local meira paibi who were keeping a close vigil to the students. The student identified as Thoudam Mukesh of Lamlong Higher Secondary School continues the fast-unto-death protest and his condition is deteriorating. Later, he was also picked up by a police team at around noon today.
After the police picked up the four students large number of people from Nongmeibung and Soibam Leikai area came out at the street and stop all sort of vehicular movement which lead to Ananda Singh Higher Secondary School in front of Raja Dumbraj School, Checkon and Khurai side.
At around 9 am today morning large number of people gathered in front Ananda Singh Higher Secondary School, where the lone student continue his fast-unto-death protest after his colleague were picked up and tried to stage protest. At around 10 am a police team fire several round of rubber bullets to disperse the agitators who were mostly women. In the fire a 45 years old lady identified as Thoudam Thoibi, wife of Th. Rajen of Nongmeibung sustained bullet injury at her left leg. She was immediately rushed to JNIMS by the locals of the area.
Mukesh along with the four students – Surjit Sagolsem, Dayananda Lairikyenbam, Oinam Suresh and Loitongbam Bidyaluxmi were admitted at RIMS security wards and undergoing treatment.
Meanwhile, the five new students who have began fast unto-death protest after the first five students had been detained by the police team have been identified as Toijam Robinson, son of Ibomcha of Wangkhei Ningthem Pukhrimapal ( a student of class XI at CC Higher Secondary School), Leishangkhong Fajal, son of Md. Baniyamin of Khumintok (class XII student of Lamlong Higher Secondary School), Arambam Bhopendro, son of Binodkumar of Kongba (student of Ananda Higher Secondary School), Kh. Thoibisana, daughter of Salaikhomba Mangang of Khurai Nandeibam leikai (class X student of Lamlong Higher Secondary School) and Ningthoujam Linthoi, daughter of Manglem of Lairik Yengbam Leikai Khurai ( class X student Lamlong Higher Secondary School) . On the other hand, the six person who began fast-unto-death protest from today morning have been identified as Yumnam Samjaiba Meitei, son of Y Erabot Meitei of Langol Housing Complex type 3, Manoharmayum Sumanta, daughter of M Ibecha of Sekta Mayai Leikai (President AMSU I/E), Romendrajit Moirangcha of Heigrujam Mamang Nambol, (General Secy. PD Labour Welfare Association), Devison Akoijam Meitei, son of Akoijam Saratchandra of Uripok Sinam Leikai, Depeshwar Lairikyengbam, son of late Dinamani of New Checkon Awang Leikai and Haorokcham Benson Meitei, son of H Deven Meitei of Awang Khunou Mamang Leikai ( studying BSc III year at Manipur College) .
