The 4th annual function of “EE-GEE KHONGUL LIBA” (Pukmen paomenaba) was organised by the Meitei Pangal EE–GEE Khongul Liba Foundation Committee held at Sana Konung, today.
Maharaja Leishemba Sanajaoba, Member Rajya Sabha, Buyamayum Yaima Shaha (Majid Ali), President (MPEKLFC Manipur) and Dr. Dolaipabam Raheijudin Sheikh (Oja Samu), Principal Lilong Haoreibi College graced the function as Chief Guest, President and the Guest of Honour respectively.
Speaking as the Chief Guest, Leishemba Sanajaoba, said that the main objective of organizing today’s function was to retrace the lineages of the different communities living together in our state since time immemorial. He further added that it is well known fact and no one can deny that the Meitei Pangal are also sons and daughters and carries the blood of Meitei mother.
As part of today’s function a two minutes silence was observed in remembrance of the people who are killed in the ongoing violence and relief materials were also presented to the Kamakhya Pemton College, Hiyangthang relief camp.
