40 years old man held for abusing minor girl

A forty years old man, who was arrested by police for sexually abusing a 14 years old minor girl was produced today at Cheirap Court. Irate women activists and locals of the minor girl agitated at the court complex demanding handing over of the accused. Police finds hard time in controlling the mob.
The accused has been identified as Rajkumar Birjit Singh, son of Sanatomba of Yaiskul Hiruhanba Leikai, Imphal. Report said that the brother of the victim minor girl find out the intolerable act yesterday midnight after he incidentally came across some of the recorded video clips taken by Rajkumar Birjit Singh.
The accused is a neighbour of the victim girl. Rajkumar Birjit Singh allegedly molested the girl and later raped her on June 5. The rape scene was recorded by the accused in video camera. The accused Birjit later sold the video clip at Internet. According to the victim minor girl, Birjit threatened her of dire consequences if the matter was revealed to anyone.
The brother of the victim minor girl said that the accused borrowed his laptop as they were neighbours yesterday. When he opened up the recycle bin several clips of the shameful incident were found at around midnight. Later, the brother of the minor girl along with the locals thrashed the accused but a police team which came at the moment took him in custody. 
Imphal West police has registered a case against Birjit and produced today at CJM Imphal West amidst protest from the women activists. He was later remanded in police custody for further interrogation.
