4 including Groom died in road mishap while returning from “Mangani Chakkouba”; 3 seriously injured

Thoubal, Nov 25: In a tragic accident, a groom along with his 3 other friends died at Moirang Palli area of Thoubal Kshtri leikai in Thoubal district today. 3 other friends who companied the groom sustained serious injury and are undergoing treatment at Thoubal district hospital in critical condition.
According to record, the accident happened at around 2.00pm today. A speeding 407 mini truck collided with the car that the groom along with his 6 friends were returning after attending ‘mangani chakkouba’ at the bride residence at Yairipok Huidrom Leikai.  
‘Mangani Chakkouba’ is a traditional event at which the bride and groom along with their relatives, friends and family were invited for a grand feast by the family of the bride after 5 days of marriage.
Usually, the groom along with friends used to return back after getting blessing from the bride’s parents and family and the bride use to stay for some time till evening sharing good time with her family members.
The report said that 7 people including the groom were coming back to the residence of the groom at Thoubal Khekman in Thoubal district in a YUVA Car bearing registration number MN05 A 7066. The way the accident occurred look like a head on collision with the 407 truck. The 4 persons including the groom Maibam Meghachandra (18 years) died on the spot (inside the car), 3 other friends of the groom sustained serious injury they were immediately evacuated to Thoubal district hospital.
The 3 other deceased died in the road mishaps have been identified as Thongam Jupiter (18 years), Asem Amujao (17 years) and Md. Apik (17 years).
Another report reaching here said that the three injured persons identified as Pradipkumar, Pradip and Malemnganba after being treated at Thoubal district hospital has been referred to Shija Hospital and Research Center, Langol.
