38 hours statewide bandh called by JAC against the brutal Killing of Sapam Robinhood for immediate punishment of the police personnel involved in the killing of student and also demanding immediate passing of a legislation to protect the indigenous people of the state, which began from 5 am today morning has crippled normal life in Valley districts of Manipur. Various bandh supporters came out to the streets and prevented all sorts of vehicular movement at many places in Imphal area.
Almost all shops and business establishment in Khwairamband keithel, Thoubal district, Bishnupur district, and Lamlong Keithel remain shuts during the bandh. Streets of Imphal and High ways wore deserted looks as almost all inter state commercial bus services, auto services, and other taxi services including the private vehicles stay off the road. At Khurai area bandh supporters came out large in number and placed plank and woods across the road to prevent vehicular movements. Security personnel were deployed large in number at various places. At Keishamthong area too large number of Kabui women came out at the street and halt all passerby along the route. At afternoon police tried to dispersed them but the women confronted the police shouting slogans against the government inability to introduce ILPS in the state.
