320.86 lakhs planted from 2018-2022 – Forest Minister Biswajit

A total of 320.86 lakh seedlings were planted from 2018-2019 to 2021-22, out of which 60-70% of has survived. This was answered by Forest, Environment, and Climate Change Minister, Thongam Biswajit Singh while replying to a question asked by MLA K Ranjit Singh during question hour in the ongoing Manipur Legislative Assembly session today.
51.59 lakhs seedlings were planted and 21.45 lakh seedlings were distributed to the public in the year 2018-2019, 21.09 lakh seedlings planted and 42.21 lakh seedlings distributed for the year 2019-20, 90.52 lakh seedlings planted and 9.70 lakh seedlings distributed in the year 2020-21 and 45.93 lakh seedlings planted and 38.37 lakh seedlings were distributed to the public in the year 2021-22.
A total of Rs. 103.35 crores was spent on creating the seedlings, said Th. Biswajit Singh replying to MLA K Ranjit Singh’s question on the status of the plantation of trees from 2018 – 2022.
