Except for Lotha who serves as a conductor in the Nagaland State Transport Corporation, all the non locals labourers injured in the blast are presently staying at Khuyathong area.
Motive behind the blast could not speculated as the blast site is also a route that leads to the Manipur state Legislative Assembly Secretariat at Chingmeirong and some MLAs and Ministers use to pass the route to attend the 9th session of the 10th Manipur Legislative Assembly, which is being underway since Dec. 18 security. On December 18 and December 19 security was highly alerted in and around the area, but there were no sitting on Saturday and Sunday. The session will be concluded tomorrow.
According to a statement of a non local who was present at the blast site, two persons – a male and female of middle age came at the tea hotel at around 9.30 am today and they left a box which probably contains the IED. The blast occurred soon after the two left in a bus that leads to Motbung.
