Imphal, Feb 5:
The Examination Section of Manipur University, in collaboration with the UGC Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Centre, organized the inaugural function of a three-day program on Assessment, Evaluation & Question Setting at the Court Hall of Manipur University. The event was initially scheduled to be held at the Manipur Institute of Management Studies but was later shifted.
The program was graced by Manipur University Vice Chancellor Prof. N. Lokendra Singh, Chairman of the Undergraduate Examination Standing Committee Prof. S. Jibonkumar Singh, Chairman of the Postgraduate Examination Standing Committee Prof. Sumitra Phanjoubam, Controller of Examination Tokpam Shantikumar Singh, and Director of UGC Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Centre, Prof. R.K. Bhubon Singh, as distinguished guests.
Speaking at the event, Vice Chancellor Prof. N. Lokendra Singh highlighted the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which was introduced in the 2022-2023 academic session. He noted that while students have now reached their sixth semester, a local paper is yet to be introduced. However, he reassured that efforts are being made to report on the matter and provide necessary updates.
Prof. Lokendra further stated that the NEP-2020 framework at Manipur University has been designed to establish a structured four-year syllabus and curriculum. He emphasized that the policy has brought significant transformations in the undergraduate and postgraduate education systems, marking a major shift in the academic structure of the university.
