The Second Annual Conference of ‘Society of Psychiatric Nurses Manipur’, (SPNMCON), 2023 was held today (3rd March, 2023) at Jubilee Hall, RIMS, Imphal.
The conference was organized by SPNM in association with Department of Psychiatry, RIMS & Share and Care Foundation, Wangkhei, Imphal.
Prof. N. Rajmuhon Singh, Vice Chancellor, Dhanamanjuri University, Manipur, Kh. Ratna Devi, President, Society of Psychiatric Nurses Manipur, Dr. Arunjyoti Baruah, HOD, Nursing, LGBRIMH, Tezpur, Assam, Prof. H. Priyosakhi Devi, Director, RIMS, Imphal, Dr. N. Hemantakumar Singh, Addl. Director/Consultant Neurologist, Manipur Health Services, Govt. of Manipur and Dr. R.K. Lenin Singh, Prof. Dept. of Psychiatry, RIMS/ Founder, Share and Care (SAC), Wangkhei graced the event as the Chief Guest, President, Special Guest and Guests of Honor respectively.
Speaking on the occasion Prof. N. Rajmuhon Singh said, “the main objective of this conference is to highlight the need for prioritising the mental health of healthcare providers and understanding how to balance professional and personal health”.
Further, Prof. H. Priyosakhi Devi mentioned that “nurses are the backbone of the medical society” stressing that “the specially trained nurses are very reliable inspite of their less number”. She also added that they are the need of the hour, given that they are in a very vulnerable field.
