29 state-sponsored Trainees return complaining inhospitable hostel conditions

In what could be a major setback to the efforts of the state government to impart vocational skills to the people of the state, out of 40 students selected and sponsored by the Manipur Development Society (MDS) for Dress Making and Aviation for a 6 months training program at the Institute for Quality Skill Training (IQST) situated at Guwahati, 29 trainees (boys) have returned home. The returned trainees alleged that the state government did not take up necessary inquiry or inspection of the facilities at the institute, stating that the hostel provided for the trainees are in a deplorable condition not fit for staying.
