21st Manipur Integrity Day

Commemorating the August 4, 1997 mass rally here in Imphal with a pledge to safeguard the territorial integrity of Manipur, All Manipur United Clubs Organisation (AMUCO) observed the 21st Manipur Integrity Day at MDU Yaiskul.
As part of the observance members of AMUCO led by its President Ph. Deven Sharma paid floral tributes at the Integrity Pillar erected at Mapal Kangjeibung.
The main observance function was held along with a public meeting at MDU hall at Yaiskul Police lane.
Speaking on the occasion President of AMUCO, Ph. Devan said that people of the state are at crucial stage with the signing Frame Work agreement between the government of India and the NSCN- IM and the recent report of the Parliamentary committee report.
He said after entering into a ceasefire agreement with the Government of India, NSCN-IM has been trying to Disturb the territorial integrity of Manipur and now under the influence of Government of India, some Kuki organizations have also started demanding a homeland for the Kukis.
UCM President Karam Sunil also appealed the people to stay alert to every development of the NSCN-IM and GoI talk. He said CSOs representative had met the Union Home Minister submitted memorandum to all the concern for safeguarding of the Manipur’s territorial integrity and also met the Indian government Interlocutor RN Ravi urging him to make any division either in administration of bifurcation. He said even after assurance after assurance the people of the state are still not secure due to the recent development. He appealed people to stand united for protection of the integrity of the state.
Meira paibi leaders Representative of Kuki Inpi Manipur and various other CSOs also attended the Manipur Integrity Day observance.
