Bandh supporters of the United Naga Council (UNC) today set ablaze a Bullet motorcycle at Namdilong village near Kanglatongbi Shantipur under Sekmai Police Station in Imphal West district at around 2 pm.
According to reports, three individuals, suspected to be from the Kuki community, allegedly violated the UNC bandh and entered the area. Two of them were reportedly apprehended by bandh supporters and later handed over to Sekmai Police Station, while the third managed to escape.
The two individuals have been identified as Ngamtinson Vaiphei (19), son of Paokholam Vaiphei of Thingphai village under Saikul Sub-Division, and Seikhogun Tuboi (17), son of Ngamkholal Tuboi of Bunglung village under Saikul Sub-Division.
Sources said that bandh supporters also recovered Rs 30,000 in cash, a packet of suspected ganja, and a mobile phone from their possession.
Police later transferred the two individuals to Sapermeina Police Station at around 3:30 pm for further necessary action.
