2- day conference on Borderland people in the Indo-Myanmar region concludes

Imphal, March 6:

The two day conference on Borderland people in Indo-Myanmar region organized by the Center for Myanmar Studies, Manipur University under the aegis of the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR) at the conference hall of Anthropology Department, MU, which began on March 5 concluded today.
Altogether 62 papers are presented on different themes of the conference and 10 persons are presented online from different parts of India.
The valedictory function held today was chaired by Prof. MC Arun Director Centre for Myanmar studies.
Prof S Mang Dean School of Social science Manipur University, Prof. W Chandbabu Register MU, and Prof N Lokendra HOD Department of National Security Studies, MU attended the inaugural function as dignitaries.
W. Nabakumar former Dean School of Human and Environmental sciences MU gave the keynote address of the two-day conference.
Prof. E Bijoykumar Director Centre for Social Exclusion and inclusive policy moderated the first-day session. Three panelists Prof. Ch. Priyoranjan, Pradip Phanjaobam and Babloo Loitongbam gave different aspects of borderland peoples and their live of the region on the inaugural day.
