The first Tangkhul Hungshi Shangva Kazip/guttering event was held at Bakshi Ground Indoor Stadium, Hungpung village, Ukhrul district on Saturday.
The first-ever gathering event of all the Tangkhul Hungshi (Mangang) clans from all over Ukhrul district and Khongdei of Senapati district was held at Hungpung and declared their official clans as ‘Hungshi- Mangang’ Salai today in front of all the congregation.
Qr. Boniface Hungshi Chairman of the Hungshi Shangva clan hoisted the Hungshi flag of red colour with a Snake emblem resembling or same as that of Mangang Ningthouja right after the opening prayer followed by Hokharai the Tangkhul customary by Qr. Newman Hungshi.
Boniface stated that after more than 18 years of history research on the origin of the Hungshi clan, it has finally concluded that the Hungshi clan originated from ‘Khongde’ where three brothers dispersed the eldest one Riso Khongreihung / Khongreiwo the second one Hiipam/Hungpunghung and the youngest one Mahza Meiteihung.
During the programme As. Felix Ningkhanpam Hungshi, DI, ADC declared the Hungshi clan history.
Th. Treason, Convenor history committee Khongdei Union exhorted the minutes of the history and also gave tributes to the youngest one in spite of their absence (the Meitei Mangang )by speaking in the Meitei language.
The programme was also exhorted by Aron Ngalung Hungshi, president Haomee, As Honpam Hungshi, Chairman Zingsho Maithel Long, Ng. Sethstone, former present Tangkhul Zimik Shang and As. Yangkahao former speaker TNL.
Apart from the Hungpung Hungshi clan others who represent the Hungshis clan are from Khongdei/ Khongrei, Sharkaphung village, Teinem village, Ringui village, Marao village etc
