Last day sitting lasted for 13 min. 12 sec..

Imphal, March 23: First session of the 11th Manipur Legislative Assembly adjourned sine die today and interestingly the 3rd day of the sitting lasted for only 13 minutes 12 seconds.
The sitting is perhaps the shortest sitting in the history of Manipur Legislative Assembly as well as in the entire state assembly of the North East India. On December 15, 2015 Nagaland State Legislative Assembly hold a sitting for just 30 minutes and adjourned sine die after completion of obituary reference. As for the Nagaland state Assembly ruled by Naga People’s Front (NPF)-led Democratic Alliance of Nagaland (DAN), there are no opposition and may be due to the reason the sitting might have been completed in 30 minutes.
Unlike Nagaland Assembly, Manipur Legislative Assembly is having a strong opposition this time with a total strength of 27 Congress MLA with former Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh as the opposition leader.
As for today’s session there were no other business then passing of the Manipur Appropriation (No. 1) Bill, 2017 and The Manipur Appropriation (No. 2) Bill, 2017 which were moved and introduced by Chief Minister Nongthongbam Biren. Both the Bills were passed and Speaker of the Manipur Legislative Assembly Y. Khemchand after taking the consent of the house adjourned the sitting sine die.
