A 14 years old minor girl was gang raped and thrown to the road side in between Irong to Heibong Makhong road under Mayang Imphal Police Station, leaving her to the jaws of death yesterday evening. The victim girl miraculously survived after she was found by some persons early today morning in an unconscious condition. She was immediately rushed to RIMS hospital and is undergoing treatment.
Wrath over the incident locals of Mayang Imphal demanded immediate arrest of the culprits involved and punished them as per the law of the land.
Manipur Muslim Welfare organization has threatened intense agitation if the police fails to punished the rapist within 24 hours . The organization said that earlier too a girl was raped and murdered at Yairipok . The women body urged the authority to arrest those involved in the crime and punish as per the law of the land.
Meanwhile, tension runs high at Mayang Imphal area following the incident. Large number of people came out daring the COVID-19 pandemic and started searching for the suspect since early morning today.
