At least 14 vehicles have been destroyed during the ongoing 48-hour public curfew called by Jiribam Branch of Joint Action Committee on Inner Liner Permit System at the Sub-Division.
During the public curfew, all the vehicles including of Assam Rifles were blocked at Jiribam and government establishments, educational institutes and shops were closed down.
M Hemanta, Chairman of JCILPS, Jiribam Branch appealed all to support the public curfew. He also stressed on the important of pressing the government for passing of an ILP like bill in the assembly as this is the only chance to push for protection of the indigenous people of the state.
