11 Villages of Leimarol Hill range accept to work with Haomee

Authority of 11 (eleven) villages of Leimarol Hill range in Kasom sub-division of Kamjong district has given assent to work with the Federation of Haomee in its mission to protect the identity, culture, tradition and history of the indigenous people of the region.
In a statement by Dr. Khomdom Lisam, Publicity Secy. Haomee, it is stated that a meeting of all authorities of the villages of Leimarol Hill range was held at Kasom Khullen Community Hall yesterday.
In the meeting leaders and villagers of various communities including Tangkhul, Kabui, Maring, Paomei, Thangal and Meitei attended the meeting and deliberated on the issues being faced by the indigenous people who have been living there since time immemorial.
Speakers on the occasion seriously discussed about the influx of foreigners, who have now shattered the rights of the indigenous people. They expressed dissatisfaction over the attempt by foreign migrants who have been trying all means to distort the history of the indigenous people of the area.
Speakers on the occasion called on about the need for standing united to face any challenges that may shattered the peaceful existence of the people there.
