11 Tangkhul Village Chiefs vows to work with Haomee to protect indigenous people

Apex body of the Eleven Villages of Tangkhul community in Kamjong District, known as ‘Shangpu Long’ have resolved to go hand in hand with the Federation of Haomee.
A statement said that Village chiefs of 11 Tangkhul community in Kamjong district after having a meeting at Chakama Village on April 23 have taken the decision to go hand in hand with the Federation of Haomee. Those villages are Nungthar, Maryland, Ringpam, Khram, Horton, Tangkhul Khullen, Somiri[hei, Somrei, Somcharam, Chakama and Komlaching. The meeting was presided by Chairman of Shangpu Long, T. Ningchui Chitlung. President of the Federation of Haomee, Sapamcha Jadumani and Vice President Dr. Heera kabui also share the dais.
The meeting also resolved to protect the indigenous people of the state and expressed dissatisfaction to the failure of the govt. in defining the indigenous people of Manipur.
