10th General Assembly of Pambei-led UNLF concludes, New Central Committee members appointed 

The Pambei-led United National Liberation Front (UNLF) successfully concluded its 10th General Assembly, held from 28 to 30 July, 2025. According to a press release issued by Charairongba Thokchom, Secretary of the Department of Publicity and Education, the General Assembly began with a two-minute silence in honor of all the fallen heroes who sacrificed their lives in the struggle for sovereignty, which began in 1964.
During the General Assembly, key policies and programs aimed at further strengthening the organization were discussed. As per the UNLF’s by laws, the 9th Central Committee was formally dissolved, and members of the 10th Central Committee were appointed.
The newly appointed members of the 10th Central Committee are Khundongbam Pambei, Naorem Loya, Salam Nongdol, Sinam Pankhei, Thokchom Khambaton, Khundrakpam Sanahal, Khuraijam Khoimu, Khuraijam Ibudhou, Takhellambam Thajalemba, Charairongba Thokchom, Khundongbam Lanjingba.
The 10th Central Committee unanimously appointed Khundongbam Pambei as Chairman. Thokchom Khambaton was elected Vice Chairman and will serve as Acting Chairman. Additional appointments General Secretary Salam Nongdol, Defense Secretary Naorem Loya, Secretary Department of Finance Sinam Pankhei, Deputy Secretary Department of Finance Takhellambam Thajalemba, Secretary Department of Organization Khundrakpam Sanahal, Secretary, Department of Publicity and Education & Department of Human Resource Development Charairongba Thokchom, Assistant Secretary, Department of Health and Family Welfare Thokchom Khambaton. Additionally, Central Committee Member Lt. Col. Khuraijam Khoimu has been appointed as Chief of Army Staff of the Manipur People’s Army, the armed wing of the Pambei led UNLF.
The General Assembly also deliberated on the ongoing ceasefire agreement and the subsequent peace talks with the Government of India. Despite ongoing negotiations, the organization reaffirmed its unwavering objective of restoring Manipur’s sovereignty.
