Imphal, Nov 18: A fierce gunbattle was reported today between armed underground group and troops of 38 AR at Mongpijang Village under Saikul Police station in Senapati district today morning. A police source said that the gunfight took place when armed assailants believed to be member of TPLA fired towards the AR troopers when they were conducting combing operation in the area. The AR trooper retaliated and a cadre of the TPLA was reported killed on the spot. The AR trooper reported to have recovered an assault rifles from his possession.
