1 minor killed, 4 others injured in grenade blasts

Imphal Jan 21: One minor boy was killed while 4 of his friend sustained serious injury after a grenade which they presume as toy blasted. The incident happened at Sabunglong leisok Village under Khoupum Police Station in Noney district at around 9.30 am.
The deceased minor boy is identified as Shahatngam Kamei (9 years old) son of (L) Ringlungpou of Subunglong Part -1. The four other minors who were injured in the blast are identified as Gaillianshui Gonmei (5 years old) son of Kakinthai, Zaojianthuliu Kamei (2 years old), daughter  of Gaijaini Kamei, Silas Kamei (5 years), son of Khuaithoalung Kamei and Guillianei Kamei (4 years old), daughter of Gairihpou Kamei of Subunglong Part -1 village in Noney district. All the injured have been evacuated to RIMS hospital. However, the injured minor boy were still yet to admit at RIMS at the time of filing this story (3 .30 pm).
Report said that the five minor children who were playing accidentally picked up an object thinking it as a toy and started playing. As the toy which was found from the ground turned out to be a grenade blasted killing the 9 years old minor at the spot.
