Imphal, Nov 20: A person was killed today morning after a deadly blast was triggered by unknown persons suspected to be armed rebel group operating in the region. The blast occurred at a road median in front UCO Bank located at Singjamei Chongtham Leikai under Singjamei Police station at around 8 am. Report said that many are standing on queue for currency exchange when the blast took place.
The deceased has been identified as Binod Rai (age about 28 years), a native of Mazafarnagar, Bihar presently staying at a rented house at Singjamei here in Imphal.  Report said that the blast occurred when he was sitting in front of a warehouse where he used to work as a salesman.
Mentioned may be made that the blast was triggered amidst tight security arrangement being taken up ahead of the Sangai festival which is set to begin from tomorrow at Hapta Kangjeibung, Palace Compound.
