If one goes searching for one Manipuri who help people with his hard earn clean money and become famous , I would certainly name Sapam Nishikanta, the owner of Sangai Express daily newspaper. There are also many others who live only with their legitimate hard earn clean money. Some may even be richer then Mr. Sapam Nishikanta . But so far , no Manipuris had ever notice , person like him who spent money to the poor and needy from his legitimate hard earn money to the needy at a time when the state is facing extreme hardship due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.
Of the over 80 thousand state government employees, whose monthly salary is less than Rs. 1 lakhs , around 20% of them had asset and properties worth crores of rupees. There are contractors who are rich and powerful, but people are skeptical to the way that they earn their money. When this sort of people started donations or distribution of items to the needy it is assumed to have been related with their something else – like conversion of black money to white. And most importantly these people certainly have reason of their act.
May be Sapam Nishikanta have reason, as he had also joined the BJP and become a political workers.
An MBA graduate , who had master the art of newspaper business , having over 20 years of experience by giving job to nearly 100 of people , if have agenda for his work, he would certainly announced it while helping the poor and the needy . As whatever, he spent so far is not so quick earn black money but money he earn legally from his business.
I have reason to appreciate Sapam Nishikanta, because similar people like him viz- Dr. Dhablli, Dr. Palin etc. are not seen doing what Mr. Nishikanta has been doing .
I wish him success in the coming days.
