We all talk about social reform, we are worried about the deteriorating structure of the society. As we discuss the changing behavior of the younger generation in our homes or elsewhere, the reason for this change is considered to be modernization. . Every hand has a mobile and in the mobile the world is absorbed, all kinds of people, all kinds of entertainment means, all kinds of knowledge. When it comes to knowledge, libraries are considered to be the biggest source of knowledge. No matter how many biographies of great people are read, the only conclusion is that books had a special significance in their lives. His daily routine included going to the library. As I mentioned at the outset, we are concerned about society but the question is, what are we doing to change it? We want development and society like the developed countries but no one is ready to undertake for it. Books have played a huge role in all the developed countries. But the love for books in our society seems to be fading away. If we talk about Punjab then there will be very few districts which will have libraries. The village will be one of the hundred where the library will be built. Looks like this dilapidated library building might not have collapsed! There are no librarians in the library, no one to take care of the books, no one to dare to motivate the youth to take some time for the library.
In a society where young people are addicted to books, a bright future can be expected, but where there are no public libraries, even if they are in a pitiable state, we cannot expect a society of more settled people. .
I often see how many literary activities there are, how many ceremonies are held, how many poets’ conventions are held, but sadly all the focaccia, sadly all the honors are limited to giving and receiving. The big speakers come and go, the listeners leave, instead of taking the listeners with them, they leave what they have heard. No one has taken the initiative to take care of the public libraries. Speaking of which, the biggest home of literature is libraries, the great writers or community leaders must fight for the existence of libraries.
Many steps need to be taken to build and maintain the library. Governments that solicit votes on the lure of phones, laptops, or other such little things, should forget to mention that libraries will be built in every village, in every city, so that those who are fond of reading Those who cannot afford to buy books can take advantage of it.
Apart from this, if libraries have been set up in cities or villages but they are not maintained then the residents should take care of the library as a temple of knowledge. Books are one of our greatest ways. Critics should also consider the library when requesting grants for other works on village and city roads. Parents should also take their children to the library for some time instead of using the phone.
So if we want to create a reconciled society then we have to associate with books. No matter the class, politicians, village and city dignitaries, the general public, parents all need to work hard for this. A good society can be created by associating with books, a society that is aware of its own rights and the rights of others, a society that is far from folly and conveys a message of love, respect and cooperation.
