1. Khemta Taal: In Indian Music, the Khemta Taal is also the most popular and well known Taal compositions having 12 (twelve) Matras. It has 4 (four) Bibhags (Divisions) made of 3 (three) Matras in each Bibhags. Soma in the 1st (first) Matra,Tallis are in the7th (seventh) & 10th (tenth) Matra and Khali in the 4th (fourth) Martra of the Taal. (twelve). This Taal is populary use in Classical Music, Light Classical Music, Folk Music, Devotional Music, Kirtana, Film Songs, Ghazals, etc,.
2. Dhipchandi Taal: In Indian Music, the Dipchandi Taal is one of the most popular Taal compositions having 14 (fourteen) Matras. It has 4 (four) Bibhags (Divisions) made of 3 (three) Matras in 1st (first) & 3rd (third) Bibhags and 4 (four) Matras in the 2nd (second) & 4th (fourth) Bibhags. Soma in the 1st (first) Matra, 2nd (second) & 3rd (third) Tallis in the 4th (fourth) &11th (eleventh) Matras with the Khali in the 8th (eight) of the Taal. This Taal is also popularly use in Classical Music, Light Classical Music, Folk Music, Devotional Music, Kirtana, Film Songs, Ghazals, etc,. This Taal is similar with that rhythmic pattern of Dui Theka Taal of Manipuri Manoharshai Sankirtana.
3. Chari Taal: In Indian Music, the Chari Taal is also one of the most popular Taal compositions having 14 (fourteen) Matras. It has 7 (seven) Bibhags (Divisions) made of 2 (two) Matras in each Bibhags. Soma in the 1st (first) Matra, 2nd (second), 3rd (third) & 4th (fourth) Tallis in the 3rd (third), 7th (seventh) & 11th (eleventh) Matras with the Khallis in the 5th (eight), 9th (ninth), 13th (thirteen) Matras of the Taal. This Taal is mainly use in the tradition of Manipuri Manoharshai Sankirtana and Bengali Kirtana. This Taal is made of Rupak Taal or Teevra Taal.
4. Jhoomara Taal: In Indian Music, the Jhoomara Taal is also one of the Taal compositions having 14 (fourteen) Matras. It has 4 (four) Bibhags (Divisions) made of 3 (three) Matras in 1st (first) & 3rd (third) Bibhags and 4 (four) Matras in the 2nd (second) & 4th (fourth) Bibhags. Soma in the 1st (first) Matra, 2nd (second) & 3rd (third) Tallis in the 4th (fourth) &11th (eleventh) Matras with the Khali in the 8th (eight) of the Taal. This Taal is also popularly use in Classical Music, Light Classical Music, Folk Music, Devotional Music, Kirtana, Film Songs, Ghazals, etc,.
5. DhamarTaal: In Indian Music, the Dhamar Taal is also one of the most ancient devotional base Taal compositions having 14 (fourteen) Matras. It has also 4 (four) Bibhags (Divisions) made of 5 (five) Matras in 1st (first) Bibhag, 2 (two) Matras in 2nd (second) Bibhag, 3 (three) Matras in the 3rd (third) Bibhag and 4 (four) Matras in the 4th (fourth) Bibhag respectively. Soma in the 1st (first) Matra, 2nd (second) & 3rd (third) Tallis in the 6th (fourth) &11th (eleventh) Matras with the Khali in the 8th (eight) of the Taal. This Taal is also popularly use in Classical Music, Light Classical Music, Devotional Music, Kirtana, Film Songs, etc,. This Taal is mostly played during the Holi festival.
6. Trital: In Indian Music, the Trital is one of the most popularly known Taal compositions having 16 (sixteen) Matras. It has also 4 (four) Bibhags (Divisions) made of 4 (four) Matras each. Soma in the 1st (first) Matra, 2nd (second) & 3rd (third) Tallis in the 5th (fifth) & 13th (thirteen) Matras and Khali in the 9th (ninth) Martra of the Taal. This Taal is also popularly use in Classical Music, Devotional Music, Film Songs, etc,. This Taal is similar with that rhythmic pattern of Punjabi Theka.
7. Daspere Taal: In Indian Music, the Daspere Taalis one of the most popularly Kirtana or devotional type Taal compositions having 8 (eight) Matras. It has 4 (four) Bibhags (Divisions) made of 2 (two) Matras each. Soma in the 1st (first) Matra, 2nd (second) & 3rd (third) in the 3rd (third) & 5th (fifth) Matra, the Khali in the 7th (seventh) Martra of the Taal. This Taal is also popularly use in Devotional Music and Manipuri Manoharshai Sankirtana, Bengali Kirtana, etc,.
8. TilwadaTaal: In Indian Music, the Tilawada Taal is also one of the most well known Taal compositions having 16 (sixteen) Matras. It has also 4 (four) Bibhags (Divisions) made of 4 (four) Matras each. Soma in the 1st (first) Matra, 2nd (second) & 3rd (third) Tallis in the 5th (fifth) & 13th (thirteen) Matras and Khali in the 9th (ninth) Martra of the Taal. This Taal is also popularly use in Classical Music, Devotional Music, Film Songs, etc,. This Taal is similar with that rhythmic pattern of Tritaal, Punjabi Theka, etc,.
9. Punjabi Taal: In Indian Music, the Punjabi Taal is also one of the most well known Taal compositions having 16 (sixteen) Matras. It has also 4 (four) Bibhags (Divisions) made of 4 (four) Matras each. Soma in the 1st (first) Matra, 2nd (second) & 3rd (third) Tallis in the 5th (fifth) & 11th (eleventh) Matras and Khali in the 9th (ninth) Martra of the Taal. This Taal is also popularly use in Classical Music, Devotional Music, Film Songs, etc,. This Taal is similar with that rhythmic pattern of Trital, Tilwada Taal, etc,.
10. Brahma Taal: In Indian Music, the Brahma Taal is a Taal compositions having 28 (twenty-eight) Matras. It has 14 (fourteen) Bibhags (Divisions) made of 2 (two) Matras in every Bibhag respectively. Soma in the 1st (first) Matra, 2nd (second), 3rd (third), 4th (fourth), 5th (fifth), 6th (sixth), 7th (seventh), 8th (eight), 9th (ninth) & 10th (tenth) Tallis in the 5th (fifth),7th (seventh), 11th (eleventh), 13th (thirteen), 15th (fifteen), 19th (nineteen), 21st (twenty-first), 23rd (twenty-three), 25th (twenty-five) Matra with Khali in the 3rd (third), 9th (ninth), 17th(seventeen) & 27th (twenty-seven) Matras of the Taal. This Taal is mainly use in Classical Music, Devotional Music, Kirtana, etc,.
