Macha Leima and PAWF mourns demise of Ema Momon

Macha Leima mourns the demise of Ema Momon. In a statement the civil body said that Ema Momon has been the president of All Manipur Tamee Chingmee Lup for a long time and has bravely participated in the movement for different social issues and agitations for the integrity of the State. She was at the forefront of different campaigns on political, Human Rights and other social issues, including the Anti- drugs movement , the mass uprising of June 18 and also took main of the Sharmila Kanba Apunba Lup (SHAKAL) by staging relay protest at Porompat during the anti AFSPA movement when Irom Chanu Sharmila was undergoing the longest fast-unto death protest demanding repeal of Draconian act AFSPA. In the year 2003 she took the main role of the mass movement against the death of N. Sanjeeta of Jiribam. The new generation must not forget the role taken by the woman leader for our state adding that her death has left a large void in the society which will be hard to fill.
Patriotic Writers Forum (PAWF) Manipur, Assam and Tripura have expressed their condolences on the sudden demise of Ema Soibam Momon Leima on July 16. A press release stated that the members of PAWF have a online with all the members of Manipur, Assam, Tripura attend Naoroibam Khamba Luwang, President Manipur, Rakesh Naorem, Secretary, Biplab Sharma, President Tripura and Thounoujam Shyam, President Assam and many other members attend.
Macha Leima and PAWF also shared sorrow and sadness with the bereaved family and prayed for her peaceful stay at heavenly abode.
The All Manipur Students Guardians’ Organisation also paid homage to the departed leader Ema Momon by observing 2 minute silence.
