From chaos to comity- challenges and concerns

Ever since the unfortunate and unwanted violence erupted in the miniscule state of Manipur following a purported peace rally at Churachandpur on May 3rd, the state government have imposed a blanket ban on internet service in the state in an attempt to curb the spread of unwanted and false rumors which would fuel the violence and drag the conflict further thereby posing a stumbling block to the efforts to bring peace and understanding to the state and its people, and sixty eight days down the line, the net ban is still in effect and yet the sporadic gunfights and attacks on farmers working in their fields in the valley areas along the peripheries with the hills from well armed terrorists from well entrenched bunkers up in the hills and other higher grounds continue unabated and unchecked.
During the mentioned period since the start of the conflict, more than fifty thousand army, paramilitary and Rapid Action force personnel have been brought in to bring the situation under control. And the state as well as the central government have been portraying a picture of improvement of law and order situation which is picked up by the national media as well. The state security advisor hand picked by the centre have even gone on record making statements about how the SoO cadres have already been contained in their respective designated camps spread across the state which raised the still unanswered question of who then are the well armed terrorists who are still firing upon the villagers and why are they not checked or apprehended for their continued attempts on the life of the farmers of the state. And in an arrangement which runs contradictory to the very statement, security personnel have been deployed around the peripheries to guard the villagers working the fields with some villagers being fired upon despite the arrangements. Meanwhile, thousands of students are left in the lurch with their future uncertain, especially those studying in class nine and above who are to start their academic session this year while their counterparts in other parts of the country are preparing to appear for their first semester exams or are well into their second semesters.
It did not escape the public awareness that the Education Minister announced the arrangements for security forces to be deployed to guard the villagers working the fields while not a single word has been uttered so far regarding the resumption of higher classes in the state. And amidst these contradictions and confusions, a section of the community is working overtime spreading hatred and false propaganda on twitter and other social media platforms in an attempt to lend credence to their long drawn agenda of separate administration.
In this age of e-learning and online transactions, shutting down internet service has obviously not had the desired effect, and violence is still being reported from various areas of the state. It is time for the state government to draw up a pragmatic and sustainable action plan to bring the state back towards the path of peace and progress for this unfortunate violent outbreak have pushed back years of development and the way ahead will be a long and difficult one. It is time to face the truth and stand up to the challenges without mincing words if the waning trust of the people is to be retained and Manipur continues to exist. Anything short will ignite another crisis more intense and destructive than the last.
