A fan of Home Minister Amit Shah, a believer of peaceful co-existence among the various ethnic group, a precious son of Manipur, who was abducted by suspected cadres of the NSCN-IM while attending a state function attended by Chief Minister N. Biren Singh and his cabinet colleague amidst tight security arrangement and later found mercilessly murdered some 30 Km from the site he was abducted remain as a mystery even after 3 days.
On December 28, 2020, late Athuan Abonmai uploaded a photo at which he presented a portrait of Rani Gaidinlui to Union Home Minister Amid Shah. The gesture of the Home Minister while receiving the portrait showed his admiration for the late leader Abonmai. An outspoken leader who fears none and speaks out for peace and harmony of the country in general and for the state, in particular, was killed mercilessly by suspected cadres of the NSCN-IM. Even as there has been no claim or clarification from the NSCN-IM in connection with the killing various circumstantial evidence showed that such action could only have been done by the NSCN-IM.
Yesterday state government sent a large number of forces to conduct operations in Tamenglong district but was reportedly retreat after being interfered by the state Home department as per the media report. If such an order to retreat the operation is official, something messy seems to be going on.
Has the report been sent officially from the side of the state government to the Union Ministry of Home Affairs. If so why the center is remaining silent.
Is the smile of the Home Minister Amit Shah shown to Abonmai while receiving the portrait of Rani Gaidinlui as uploaded by Athuan Abonmai a politricks. If not, then why his Ministry is not interfering in the matter. Why the Union HM is not directing the State authority to conduct a mass operation to arrest those whoever responsible to the gruesome murder of Athuan Abonmai. Or has the state government didn’t report this brutal murder to the Home Minister.
