If I am not mistaken ‘mob justice’ means breaking the law and giving punishment to any culprit by a mob. According to you is that a right decision to take? I meant there are cases of setting fire to houses, properties, even beating the culprit to death. But how accurate the incident was and what if the culprit was the real victim? You never know the consequences. Setting a house on fire must be easy for the mob and the victim gets relief from it, but what was the family’s fault? Giving birth to a culprit was their fault, was it? I can understand people’s frustration, and it is true there are tons of pending cases and the police might take action very slow but setting someone’s house on fire without knowing the dire consequences isn’t really a good decision to me. Just imagine, a culprit stole some money from his friend’s house and ran away. The victim’s family calls for a mob justice and the mob break everything inside the house of the culprit costing more than what he had stolen and above that they beat the culprit to death. The culprit is dead but the loss to his family is infinite and here the culprit’s family is the real victim. I am not saying that mob justice is totally bad. If they don’t give hard punishment such as setting someone’s house on fire or beating someone brutally, then it is a good practise, cause they won’t have to wait for the police’ action. If mob justice is practised in a right way then I am sure it will help in building a good society.
