Armed group Maoist Communist Party, Manipur (MCPM) today claimed the attack to the designated camp of United Revolutionary Front (URF) Chingkheinganba group located at Napet Pali under Lamlai Police station on Wednesday night. In a press statement, the outfit said that the attack is a warning to all those groups or individuals who had maligned the image of the great leader Hijam Irabot and communist ideology. It said that attack was carried out by a special Lanjaba group of the Red Guard of the outfit. It said by attacking the designated camp is only 500 meters from Lamlai Police Station besides the many Para military forces camp established in the nearby area the Manipur Maoist had shown its capacity to strike at any groups at any time. Giving reason for attacking the camp, the Maoist statement said that the attack was carried out against the misleading of the armed struggle started by the Hijam Irabot and for selling the Marxism-Communism-Leninist ideology. And besides this the so called URF group taking refuge at Napet Pali had created lot of trouble to the people of the surrounding area. It said the cadre of SoO signatory group had threatened the locals of the area many a time besides extorting money from the poor villagers. On the other hand the camp that is being established is a school complex and the Maoist will not tolerate to any steps which will sabotage or disturb the educational institute.
As the group had taken shelter in the school the poor children are facing lot of problems in continuing their studies. The statement further added that those who had surrendered to the government can live a peaceful life by returning to their home by doing work like farming etc. The Party is committed to protect them. The Maoist said that they have no problem to those who had return to a normal life but sabotaging the dream of Hijam Irabot will not be tolerated and the party is ready to strike them at any time, the statement added. It also added that the army of the MCPM could have created more damage and casualty but as it was a warning so excessive action has been restrained, it added.
