The Dental College, Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal, secured the First Prize in the World Oral Health Celebration Contest 2026 at the 47th National Conference of the Indian Society of Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry (ISPPD 2026), held from September 21 to 23 in New Delhi.
The three-day conference brought together paediatric dentists, academicians, researchers and postgraduate students from across the country for discussions and scientific exchange on recent developments in paediatric and preventive dentistry.
The award was received by Dr. Wairokpam Bhoomika Devi, Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Paediatric and Preventive Dentistry, on behalf of Dental College, RIMS.
Dr. Bhoomika Devi credited the achievement to the support of RIMS Director Prof. G. Sunil Kumar Sharma, Medical Superintendent Prof. Nepram Sanjib Singh and Principal, Dental College, RIMS, Prof. B. Praveen Reddy. She also acknowledged the contributions of faculty members, students and staff.
The conference also featured the ISPPD NEST (Nurture, Educate, Serve and Treat) initiative, which brings together paediatric dentists from the North Eastern states to collaborate on improving paediatric oral healthcare. Representatives from the region submitted the NEST Report to ISPPD office bearers during the conference.
