The Central Forest Division, Forest Department, Government of Manipur, in association with the Matai Joint Forest Management Committee (JFMC), Matai Women Welfare Association, and Naharol Yaipha Lamjing Club, Matai, successfully launched the 5th Ningol Vana, an initiative aimed at promoting environmental conservation and recognizing the vital role of women in protecting forests and nurturing nature.
The programme was inaugurated by Vikram Suresh Nadhe, Divisional Forest Officer, Central Forest Division. The event was attended by Jobid Meitei, Range Forest Officer, Matai Range, along with officials of the Forest Department, office bearers and members of the Matai Women Welfare Association, NaharolYaiphaLamjing Club, Matai, Matai Joint Forest Management Committee (JFMC), village leaders, local women, youth volunteers, and residents.
The programme concluded with the plantation of saplings by the dignitaries and participants, symbolizing a collective commitment towards environmental conservation, biodiversity protection, and sustainable forest management. The enthusiastic participation of women, youth, and community members reflected the growing public commitment to creating a greener and healthier Manipur.
