The Manipur Peace and Integrity (MAPI) Council observed its 26th Foundation Day on Wednesday. In view of the prevailing situation in the state, this year’s observance was held in a simple and modest manner.
As part of the programme, members of the MAPI Council visited Yaibilen Children’s Home at Keibi Sanapat in Imphal East district, where they distributed T-shirts, school bags, slippers, fermented fish, edible oil, Horlicks, potatoes, and other essential items to the children’s. The members also interacted with the children’s, encouraging them to remain committed to their studies and strive towards building a bright future. Members of the Nongpok Leingak Apunba Nupi Lup and the President of the Awang Sekmai Advance Women Society extended their support and actively participated in the programme.
To mark the Foundation Day, the MAPI Council also organised a tree plantation drive at Chingkhei Ching in Kangla Siphoi, Imphal East. Various indigenous tree saplings were planted as part of the initiative to promote environmental conservation and help address the challenges of climate change.
The Council stated that the tree plantation programme was an integral part of its 26th Foundation Day observance, reaffirming its commitment to environmental protection and social responsibility.
