Gherao MLAs’ residences – H. Shilan
H. Shilan, Thouburel of Meitei Leepun, today called on people to gherao the residences of MLAs in their respective Assembly constituencies, urging elected representatives to clarify their stand on the ongoing crisis in the state.
He made the appeal while talking to reporters during the protest rally organised by Uripok Apunba Lup and Uripok Apunba Nupi Meira Paibi Lup in Imphal.
Shilan said it was time for the public to “wake up” legislators and press them to act in line with the aspirations of the people. He, however, stressed that the proposed gherao should remain peaceful, urging participants to refrain from any form of violence and instead seek accountability from their representatives.
The call comes amid continuing protests across the valley districts following recent incidents that have intensified public unrest.
