A two-day Residential Summit on “National Public Relations Summit-2026” was concluded at Maharashtra Information Centre, New Delhi, with the participation of senior government officials and communication professionals from across the country.
The summit was organized by the Maharashtra Information Centre under the Directorate General of Information & Public Relations (DGIPR), Government of Maharashtra, New Delhi, bringing together senior government officials and communication professionals from across the country engaged in the fields of public relations, communication, and information dissemination.
The inaugural ceremony was graced by Smt. R. Vimala, IAS, Secretary & Resident Commissioner, Maharashtra Sadan; Smt. Shweta Singhal, IAS, Special Commissioner, Maharashtra Sadan; and Shri Hemanth Nimbalkar, IPS, Commissioner, DIPR, Karnataka.
The summit featured a series of technical sessions focusing on contemporary issues in public communication. A session on “AI in Newsroom” was delivered by Shashank Chouhan, Output Editor, BBC (Indian Languages). This was followed by a session on “Digital Transformation of Governance Communication” with presentations by Karanpal Singh Julka, Dharmesh Mahamwal, and Vikas Yadav of Google India. Another key session on “Digital Transformation with Meta” was addressed by Asheesh Pandey, Meta. The day concluded with a session on “Best PR Practices in India”, where representatives from selected States shared their experiences and innovative practices, moderated by Hemanth Nimbalkar, IPS.
