MLA Dr. Yumnam Radheshyam visits hailstorm-affected areas in Hiyanglam

Hiyanglam Assembly Constituency MLA Dr. Yumnam Radheshyam today visited several hailstorm-affected areas in Sekmaijin under Kakching district to assess the damage caused by the sudden storm that struck the region a day earlier.
During the inspection, the MLA visited Sekmaijin Mamang Leikai, Mayai Leikai, Maning Leikai, Sekmaijin Khunou and some parts of Hiyanglam where houses, livestock sheds and other structures were damaged. Kitchen gardens and standing crops were also destroyed, resulting in considerable losses for many households.
Dr. Yumnam Radheshyam stated that several affected families have been left without proper shelter and food following the hailstorm. He informed that the Deputy Commissioner of Kakching has been apprised of the situation and asked to identify the most severely affected families so that necessary assistance can be provided by the Government of Manipur.
He also stated that although it may take time to reach all affected households, efforts will be made to ensure that relief is extended to every family impacted by the disaster. As an immediate measure, the MLA announced financial assistance of Rs 10,000 each for the worst-affected families from his side.
The inspection was attended by former Kakching Zilla Parishad Adhyaksha Puritsabam Jiten, former Waikhong Zilla Parishad member Chongtham Indrajit and several local residents.
